Description

I regret drawing so many Watchdogs in one picture.

Anyway, this is a sequel to one of my other drawings from last month. Y'know, the one where Wander goes berserk and becomes a villain? This AU has three parts to it and this is the second one. Hopefully the story can live up to the quality of the drawing.

If you haven't read the first part to this, I really suggest you read THAT one first before reading this one: omgitsemeraldstar.deviantart.c…
--------------------------------------------------------

It's been a whole year since Lord Wander took Hater's place. The Rebellion, led by Commander Peepers (referred to by many as "Peepers' Rebellion") is still going on. Their army has reduced by a good handful of soldiers, but " the fight must go on." Things were looking bleak for Peepers' army, as the number of Watchdogs were slowly decreasing (on both his AND Wander's side.) Over the past year, Wander finally found a way to move on from Sylvia, but he hasn't found a way to truly be happy. When he had first taken the throne, he was always weighed down by grief and he wasn't really used to his surroundings at the time. All he knew was that Peepers' wanted him dead and he had to fight against him. Now, he's regained at least half the energy that he once had back when he was good. The only problem is that he used most of that energy for planning battle strategies or fighting. He'd used to it at this point and accepted the fact that this is how his life is going to be. No more wandering around the galaxy for this guy.

As Peepers' army disintegrates, Wander ends up winning the long, agonizing war by default. However, since Peepers refuses to surrender, Wander decided that he was nothing more than a nuisance and went to banish him in the prison dimension. He has his hands tied behind him, gun against his back, and standing on a ledge, beneath his impending doom. As the portal is opening up, he heard a familiar voice calling his name. He tried to ignore it, thinking that he's gone insane and now he's hearing voices in his head, messing with him. Eventually, it gets too hard to ignore and he decides to listen.

It's Sylvia.

Sylvia was never killed; she's been imprisoned for all that time without anyone batting an eye or at least remembering that she was there. They've forgotten about Sylvia long ago; it was a shock to everyone, especially Wander. He is stunned with disbelief for a moment, then snapped out of it and pulled the reverse lever, getting her out of that lonely and horrible place. Sylvia had come out of there tired, greeting Wander with nothing but a blank, icy stare. She didn't say anything. This took Wander by surprise; this wasn't the same Sylvia that he remembered so fondly and it was too much for him to handle. He always imagined if Sylvia WERE to come back, somehow everything would go back to the way it was, but she WAS back and nothing had changed. It only left Wander confused and a bit angry at her for doing something she never did willingly; leaving him alone. His mind couldn't grasp this concept, so Wander lied to himself claiming that this wasn't the real Sylvia and the zbornak standing in front of him was some sort of clone.

"You're not the REAL Sylvia, are you? No, you couldn't be. The Sylvia that I knew would've been excited to see me, yet I haven't seen a smile on that face yet. SHE would've saved me from becoming worse than I've become in your absence. More importantly, Sylvia NEVER would've left me to fend for myself because the Sylvia that I knew.....she knew how much I needed her." Seeing Wander explode in anger was not something she was used to seeing, especially from someone who used to be so happy go lucky. That's when it hit her how much Wander really HAS changed and how hurt he was on the inside, despite the intimidating front he had now. Deep down, he was still the same wandering weirdo that she used to know.

She tried to convince him that she was the real Sylvia and that he was delusional for thinking such things, but Wander wasn't having it. He ordered the Watchdogs to kick her out of the ship, for she was just a cruel reminder that there was absolutely no chance of things ever returning to the way they were. However, he had forgotten how Sylvia fights through them with ease; even better now with the past year of experience and with the original number of Watchdogs decreased making it easier on her. After she knocks out his whole army, she goes to confront Wander. He backs away, yelling at her to go away because he can't stand to see her face, but she ignores all of it; she knows that it's all just an act. Wander tries to zap her with the gloves, but he keeps missing her intentionally; he only wants to scare her, not to kill her, but Sylvia doesn't flinch for a second. When Wander finally has no choice but to surrender, she pulls him in for a hug. In that one hug alone, the tension, all the despair he's been holding in for so long is released. He lets out all his bottled up emotions while crying into her arms, telling her everything; how he was left to believe that she was dead, his regret for ending Lord Hater's life in brawl, and the war that nearly wiped out the entire Watchdog race.

It was surely going to be a long road to recovery.

TL;DR: After a year, the war between Wander and Peepers ends. Peepers refuses to surrender, so Wander decides to banish him in the prison dimension. Wander finds out that Sylvia was trapped in there and was never killed after all. Sylvia isn't the same person that he once knew and he accuses her of being a false copy of her. He orders the Watchdogs to kick her out of the ship cause he can't stand being around her, but she knocks out his whole army. Wander tries to scare her away, but Sylvia pulls him in for a hug. Wander and Sylvia have a good emotional moment as Wander cries into her arms.

God, I think he might need therapy
